A Starburst Spectral Template

A template spectrum for starburst galaxies as referenced in the Bernard-Salas et al. ApJ paper (2009, submitted) is presented here.

• sbtemplate.fits
  This is a YAAAR format spectral fits file readable from SMART or using the sap_rfits.pro procedure in the IDL language. To create this file the IRS Short-Hi module data (9-19um) was first scaled for each object to the IRS Long-Hi module data (19-37um)) using the overlapping continuum around 19um. The resulting spectrum was then normalized at 14um, put to a common wavelength grid, and then the flux was averaged.

• sbtemplate_csub.save
  This is an IDL save file containing a template for the IRS Short-Hi module. The continuum was removed in each individual object before averaging. Then, the individual spectra were put to a common grid and combined using the median. In IDL use the restore command. The template information will be restored into the variable data.
