People often ask me this question. My usual response goes something like this...
I live in Ithaca, New York these days.
These days, my life is mostly taken up with work, or my family, which includes my wife Caren and my daughters Abby Ruth and Zoe Ellen. While Caren and I both devote a lot of energy to our careers, we have been able to mix them with travel. From July, 1997 to the end of 1998, we both conducted our research in Australia, which was a lot of fun.
When I do find some personal time, my hobbies include ultimate frisbee, cycling, hiking, and reading. I read more non-fiction than fiction, although I occasionally make forays into historical fiction, like the Brother Cadfael mysteries, C.S. Forester's Hornblower series, and lately, Patrick O'Brian's naval series featuring Captain Jack Aubrey. Among other things, I read a fair bit of military history, and the history of science, and even have some coments about the philosophy of science and pseudoscience.
I don't watch much TV these days, but I do have a few links to old favorites you might want to check out.
The one thing I really missed in Australia was National Public Radio, my primary source of news, and among other things, Car Talk (They really do talk like that in Boston, you know...). It's nice to be able to listen to these again!
